Neil Scott-Barbour is blessed with a very special talent – the gift of an authentic and distinctive British Voice. The way he uses it and where, is unique!

He has created an entertainment niche as a voice actor or expressive reader to residents of Senior Living and Care Communities as well as other facilities primarily catering to the aging population, such as Adult Day Care Centers and Rehab Centers.

He calls his performances voice acting or expressive reading because he also uses many facial expressions and body movements.

Neil was trained as an actor during his early years growing up in Britain and more recently has used his voice in many corporate and social environments both live and recorded.

Expressive Reading

Neil’s passion though, is his compassion for the unique types of audiences he serves. He uses the gift of his voice to bring joy, encouragement, inspiration, laughter and heartfelt moments and memories to listeners made up of the elderly, those in Senior Care communities, children and many others.

As well as expressively reading to these audiences, he also reads regularly to the blind, visually impaired and print handicapped by way of sub channel radios provided by the Georgia Radio Reading Service (GaRRS)- www.garrs.net. He reads from all types of printed material and on many different subjects including classic books, contemporary novels, poems and short stories as well as programs he personally creates and develops.

Using animal and nursery rhyme and character voices, Neil is a big hit in pre-Kindergarten programs, Kindergarten and Elementary schools where he entertains with zest and enthusiasm.

• “Remembering important moments and events in history”
• Neil also performs appropriate programs for annual Holidays and seasonal events such as:

Rates

Rates for Neil’s expressive reading programs are reasonably priced and performances range between 30 and 60 minutes. Master of Ceremonies or Announcer work and all other services are priced individually according to the project or event.

To Whom It May Concern:

At Parc Communities, we offer a variety of activities to our residents. Neil Scott-Barbour assisted us in doing some reminiscing type activities at our properties. The topic was concerning the World War II era and what life was like on the home front as well as on the front line for some of our veterans. Neil presented the information as if we were listening to “Talk Radio” back in the day before television took over. His expressive reading was excellent and the residents really enjoyed his rendition of Winston Churchill. The residents definitely asked to have him come back. They enjoyed asking him questions as well after his presentation. We hope to have him back soon at Parc Communities.
